Meet some of our Fall 2024 Fellows!

Lisa

Lisa Kasamba is a second-year master’s student at the UC Berkeley School of Information, focusing on product management. With interests spanning nonprofits, cybersecurity, frontend web development, and user experience research, she is passionate about finding innovative solutions to increase efficiency. Originally from the Kingdom of Eswatini, Lisa earned a double major in applied forensic science and justice studies from Methodist University. Prior to Berkeley, she worked as a special education biology teacher and a crime lab technician for the Baltimore City Police Department. As a member of the cohort, she is excited to explore data analytics and envision how it can shape her future career.

Alyssa

Alyssa is a second-year medical student at New York Medical College in Valhalla, NY, and is thrilled to join the Fall 2024 Intro to Data Analytics cohort. She graduated from Johns Hopkins University and has a strong interest in neurosurgery and neuroscience research. Alyssa aims to explore how technology and data analytics can intersect with neurosurgery, enhancing her understanding of the field. She believes data analytics and software engineering are valuable across all professions and looks forward to applying these skills in her future career. Outside of her studies, Alyssa enjoys discovering new restaurants in NYC and spending time with her family and her Samoyed, Ella.

Aleah

Aleah (they/them) graduated from Pomona College in 2024 with a degree in religious studies and gender and sexuality. Their interest in technology began after taking a class called “Coding Poetry,” where they learned to create interactive poems using p5.js. Aleah is particularly drawn to creative coding and the intersections between art and technology. In their free time, they enjoy baking, reading graphic novels, and watching cartoons.
