Meet Our New Program Assistant Faraja Thompson!

Faraja Thompson is an innovator, lifelong learner, and educator, always open to novel ideas and technical challenges. Faraja is passionate about creating systems and programs that make life easier, happier, equitable, and accessible for everyone. Faraja served as an elementary school teacher and a seasonal U.S. park ranger before retiring and obtaining several certifications in web development and Python. Her non-traditional path led her to become a volunteer teaching assistant, contracted instructor, and fellow with the Girl Develop It technology education organization. Faraja also completed a 12-week batch at Recurse Center, an educational retreat for software developers. Faraja holds a B.S. in Marketing and Africana Studies from Douglass College at Rutgers University, and an M.Ed. in Curriculum and Learning, with a concentration in English as a Second Language, from William Paterson University. We are thrilled to have Faraja on our team and can’t wait to see what’s in store!
